# How can I use my own certificate label?

ScoreDetect offers the ability for you to specify your own certificates. This can only be seen by you in your account so that you can organize your certificates. For example, you may want to use the filename or doc that you have uploaded, so that you can identify it later on in the future.

Here is how to use your own certificate label in ScoreDetect:

1. Visit the [ScoreDetect web dashboard](https://www.scoredetect.com/dashboard/certificates).
2. Click the "Edit" button.
3. A prompt will appear. Specify your new certificate label, and save changes.
4. The certificate will be updated with the new certificate label.

## Why do I need to specify my own certificate label?

There are a range of reasons why you would want to specify your own certificate label.

Some examples include:

1. **Intellectual Property Assets** - specify IP assets for easier packaging and organization
2. **Creator content** - keep track of what filename or title is used for your content
3. **Writer docs** - easily find your docs by their title
4. **Product specifications / information** - specify your product name so that you can locate it for use later on

There is so much more that you can use for your admin organization purposes. These are a few examples to help get you started.

Currently, there is no API endpoint to view or update this label. But if API support for this feature is a critical requirement, please [**book a call with us**](https://www.scoredetect.com/get-started) to support you further.
